Steambox

Launched in May of 2012, Steambox is a research centre for Studies in Technological and Experimental Arts and Media, developed by the Irish Museum of Contemporary Art [IMOCA].  As part of IMOCA’s Education platform, Steambox houses two galleries, two floors of studios. The building was originally St. Catherine’s Elementary in the Coombe, but has stood vacant for over a decade.  In 2012 it housed the NCAD MFA Degree Show.

The space is managed by Stephen O’Rourke and Jill French; Nora O’Murchu is the current Curator-in-Residence.
