Founded in 1983, NAS was one of the first group studios for visual artists to be established in Dublin. The studios were initially set up to provide basic studio space at affordable rents in the city centre, but over the years the premises have been expanded to include access to large scale equipment that would not usually available to artists working alone. NAS provides 13 individual artist's studios, all with natural light, a fully equipped framing workshop and photographic and computer facilities and a small street level exhibition space. We currently provide facilities for 20 visual artists. Each full member has exclusive use of an individual studio. Associate members have access to communal facilities only.

Current Directors are  Mary Burke (founding member), Niall Wright (founding member) and Tim Elford.
